Manager, Corporate Communications

<h2>About the role</h2> <p>This role will play a critical role in shaping Chime’s corporate narrative and reputation as a public company. You'll shape the company’s major moments and how we show up with reporters, investors, policymakers, and corporate stakeholders across quarterly earnings, corporate announcements, executive engagements, and high-stakes issues. </p> <p>You're a sharp writer, strategic thinker, reliable partner that stays calm headed when things move fast. You think ahead, catch the details others miss, and can drive a workstream from idea to execution with little direction. You build trust with senior leaders, reporters, and cross-functional partners, and you're excited to grow into a broader role as the function grows.</p> <p>You'll report to the Director of Corporate Communications and work closely with the rest of the Corporate Affairs team, along with Investor Relations, Legal, Finance, and Chime's leadership.</p> <h2>In this role, you can expect to </h2> <ul> <li><strong>Support our corporate announcements and financial communications: </strong>Drive communications for quarterly earnings and major company announcements, working with Corporate Affairs, Investor Relations, Legal, and Finance. You'll help shape the media strategy and own the press materials, briefing books, and outreach.</li> <li><strong>Own the corporate narrative: </strong>Own our messaging source of truth and help drive how Chime's corporate story evolves. Make sure it shows up clearly and consistently across earnings, announcements, executive platforms, and our owned channels.</li> <li><strong>Grow our media and influencer program:</strong> Expand Chime's relationships with business, financial, and fintech reporters, as well as the creators, Substack writers, podcasters, and emerging voices shaping the conversation. Bring proactive story ideas, land high-impact coverage, and own how we handle inbound requests.</li> <li><strong>Raise our executives' profile:</strong> Manage Chime's executive visibility program. Recommend where our leaders should show up, what they should say, and brief and staff them for interviews and speaking engagements. </li> <li><strong>Lead issues management: </strong>Own sensitive media inquiries from first triage to resolution. Recommend our response strategy, write statements and responsive materials, and bring together Legal, Risk, Security, and other partners through our issues and incident processes.</li> <li><strong>Be our AI champion: </strong>Bring innovative, AI-first thinking to the whole communications team. Build and scale the tools and workflows that change how we work. Collaborate with Marketing to drive our broader answer engine optimization (AEO) work and ensure we show up where our stakeholders are looking for information. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Keep the team running at a high level: Directly manage our agency partners, measure and report on the impact of our work, and keep leadership informed. You'll bring the project management discipline that keeps many workstreams moving at once.</strong></p> <h2>To thrive in this role, you have</h2> <ul> <li>7+ years of experience in corporate, financial, or executive communications, in-house and/or at an agency. Experience in fintech, financial services, or consumer technology is a plus.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with public company communications, including quarterly earnings, and working alongside Investor Relations and Legal.</li> <li>Established relationships with business, financial, and technology reporters, with a track record of landing coverage and managing reporter requests.</li> <li>Experience preparing and staffing executives for interviews, panels, and speaking engagements.</li> <li>Exceptional writing and editing skills across press releases, Q&A documents, briefing books, talking points, and scripts. You make complex topics clear and compelling.</li> <li>Strong organizational skills and sound judgment under pressure. You manage competing workstreams without dropping details and have experience handling sensitive issues and crisis communications.</li> <li>AI-first thinking and hands-on experience building AI tools and workflows that improve how a communications team operates.
